We want to be able to deliver both the best results and the best experience to our patients. Along with using iPads with wireless headphones for patient entertainment and weighted blankets for comfort, we’ve also incorporated some of the best recent technologies. Here are some of the technologies you can expect to see at our office.
Airflow EMS Therapy is a new and innovative way to remove persistent stains, plaque or discolouration from teeth, It uses water, compressed air and powder, to gently remove stains from hard-to reach areas, even below the gum line.
CT scans create 3D images of your teeth and jaw. While traditional x-rays are good for many dental treatments, a CT scan improves our ability to plan and execute many complex treatments, such as dental implants and endodontic treatment (root canal therapy). Having a CT scan at our office saves you the trouble of having to seek one out at a different location. Plus, a dental CT scan delivers less radiation than a medical CT scan, and its open design makes it easier for patients who are afraid of being in a confined space.
The sooner we detect a cavity, the better we can treat it. If detected early enough, we might simply adjust your hygiene and/or diet. DIAGNOdent is a tool that can help us detect cavities we might otherwise miss. Using lasers, DIAGNOdent can detect demineralized areas of your teeth, as well as small holes that might lead to larger cavities under the surface.
We understand that the sound of the dental drill can be stressful for many people. Air abrasion is modern dental technology that allows us to remove tooth material without a drill. It’s best for dealing with small cavities, white spots from fluorosis, and smoothing rough edges from chipped teeth. But it helps people with anxiety to feel better about their treatment.
If you could see what we see, you’d understand what needs to be done for the health and beauty of your smile. With digital photography, you can. We use this technology to give you a whole new perspective on your smile.
Nano hybrid composites deliver a great combination of strength and beauty. They can look more attractive for longer, thanks to the use of microscopic ceramic inclusions in the resin matrix. Plus, it offers two savings. First, it’s stronger so it can be thinner and can save more of your natural tooth material. Plus, it’s less expensive, and save you money.
Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to do the orthodontic work that used to be done by metal brackets and wires. Computer analysis, including Invisalign’s Clincheck software, helps design the optimal process for moving your teeth into their desired location.
Want to get your straight smile in less time, with less discomfort? AcceleDent prepares your teeth for moving, and it helps encourage movement with periodic use of gentle vibrations. The result is that you can cut treatment time in half–and experience less orthodontic discomfort.
We try to limit the time that we’re actually working in your mouth. Not only is it uncomfortable for you, it can make it hard to work accurately. Indirect bonding lets us do much of the work for your bracket placement outside your mouth. We create a model of your teeth and use this model to precisely plan the location of your tooth brackets. Then we can bond them quickly to your teeth in one step and achieve maximum accuracy.
X-rays are critical for seeing the structure of your teeth and jaw for both general dentistry and cosmetic procedures. But that doesn’t mean you need to be exposed to more radiation than necessary. Digital x-rays can use as little as 10% of the radiation of traditional x-rays, and we can immediately put the results up on the screen for us to review together.
Metal amalgam fillings are unattractive and contain toxic mercury. That’s why we prefer tooth-coloured fillings that look like your natural tooth material. And when used properly, these fillings can be as effective as traditional fillings.
A detailed plan can help us get your dental implant procedure right. Nobel Clinician is a software suite that lets us analyze your jaw and come up with an optimal treatment approach for your dental implants. We can even 3D print a surgical guide to make sure we follow the plan exactly.
Too often dentists look at your smile as a separate thing, but Digital Smile Design lets us design a smile solution that harmonizes perfectly with your facial appearance. Not only that: it’s set up to analyze your smile dynamically in video so we can make sure the results look attractive and natural through the entire process of smiling, laughing, and talking.
The human eye isn’t capable of seeing all the tiny details that can make a big difference in your oral health. That’s why we use high resolution magnification so we can see all that we need to see to detect problems before they become big.
Root canal therapy removes all the infected or vulnerable pulp from inside your tooth. Our apex locator helps us ensure we get it all out the first time to give us better odds of success with your root canal therapy, and reduce the risk that an infection could return.
