Here are some of the technologies you can expect to see at our office.

Airflow EMS Therapy is a new and innovative way to remove persistent stains, plaque or discolouration from teeth, It uses water, compressed air and powder, to gently remove stains from hard-to reach areas, even below the gum line.

No More Messy Impressions: Trios 3Shape

The last time you had a restoration like a crown made, you probably had to bite down into an impression tray to make a physical impression of your teeth. Now that’s a thing of the past, with our Trios 3Shape digital scanner. This is literally a wand we wave over your teeth to create a three dimensional digital model of your teeth. No more gagging on the taste and feeling of impression material, and no more fighting to hold the tray in place while it sets. Just setting the impression material can take five minutes per arch, but with 3Shape, both arches can be done in under a minute!

The digital model is immediately available for us to use in talking about your restoration. We can streamline our digital design process as well--that model can be sent to the lab immediately so they can begin work on your restoration. Less time wearing temporaries and faster final results mean you get to enjoy your new smile sooner.

Virtual Models: 3D Dental CT Scan

CT scans create 3D images of your teeth and jaw. While traditional x-rays are good for many dental treatments, a CT scan improves our ability to plan and execute many complex treatments, such as dental implants and endodontic treatment (root canal therapy). Having a CT scan at our office saves you the trouble of having to seek one out at a different location. Plus, a dental CT scan delivers less radiation than a medical CT scan, and its open design makes it easier for patients who are afraid of being in a confined space.

Early Cavity Detection: DIAGNOdent

The sooner we detect a cavity, the better we can treat it. If detected early enough, we might simply adjust your hygiene and/or diet. DIAGNOdent is a tool that can help us detect cavities we might otherwise miss. Using lasers, DIAGNOdent can detect demineralized areas of your teeth, as well as small holes that might lead to larger cavities under the surface.

Protect and Repair Teeth: Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy is an ideal treatment in minimal intervention dentistry. Ozone treatments can kill cavity- and gum-disease-causing bacteria. It can also neutralize acid to help remineralize your teeth. Because it’s a gas, it can also penetrate into tight spaces to sterilize bacteria that are otherwise hard to reach.

This means less drilling and better infection control for better oral health.

No Drill Necessary: Air Abrasion

We understand that the sound of the dental drill can be stressful for many people. Air abrasion is modern dental technology that allows us to remove tooth material without a drill. It’s best for dealing with small cavities, white spots from fluorosis, and smoothing rough edges from chipped teeth. But it helps people with anxiety to feel better about their treatment.

Digital x-rays can use as little as 10% of the radiation of traditional x-rays, and we can immediately put the results up on the screen for us to review together.
