At Riverlands Dental we see many people who attend from the North Richmond and the greater Hawkesbury area who attend to find out about options to replace missing teeth.
- We see people who wear dentures and are finding it difficult to wear. They find their ability to chew foods- like biting into an apple or eating a steak are not possible. Worse still they are worried about the denture moving when they eat or speak. Some people also find they gag when they have an upper denture, and others cannot adapt to a lower denture successfully
- On the other end of the spectrum we see with people who are missing only one or two teeth and don’t want a removable object to replace those those teeth, not do they want healthy teeth either side of the space cut down to support a bridge if that’s what they have.
What are Implants?
They are made from Titanium and they are shaped like a screw. The amazing aspect is when a screw is placed into bone, bone over a period of time grows and fused into the threads of the implant. This allows it support a tooth or a row of teeth. Implants which have been around for a long time, allow the a single tooth to be replaced with out relying teeth either side to hold the fixed prosthesis in place.
Obviously they are not for everyone, and the best to see if they are right for you is to call us and have a consultation done to see what is right for you. There is also a link below which explains a little bit more about implants
